New photos for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald have been released, showing Jude Law as a younger version of Professor Dumbledore and Johnny Depp as an also younger version of Gellert Grindelwald, believed to have been the most dangerous Dark Wizard in Potterverse.

The Crimes of Grindelwald is the sequel to 2016's Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, the first of a planned five-part Harry Potter film series spinoff based on J.K. Rowling's book of the same name.

Set in 1926, it stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, a British wizard and writer who embarks on an adventure within a secret community of witches and wizards in New York. The story takes place 70 years before Harry Potter first picks up Scamander's book at Hogwarts.

The sequel, out November 2018, follows Scamander as he is recruited by Dumbledore to put a stop to Grindelwald.

One of the photos shows Dumbledore sitting on his desk, probably at Hogwarts, with some wizarding materials behind him.

Another one shows Grindelwald along with his sidekick Vinda Rosier, played by Poppy Corby-Tuech, out in public.

In another photo, Scamander and his sidekick Jacob Kowalski, played by Dan Fogler, are out and about in the city, with Scamander lugging a heavy briefcase around.

There was ample speculation as to who was going to be cast as young Dumbledore. In April, it was revealed that Law had been cast for the part. Depp reprises his role in the sequel, having appeared in the previous installment. We admit that Law looks incredibly dapper and handsome as a young Dumbledore. It'd be interesting to see how the professor behaved in his early years, but it seems the internet is mostly focusing on how hot Law is. The thirst is real.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is directed by David Yates, who also directed the previous Fantastic Beasts film, plus Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2. The screenplay was written by J.K. Rowling herself, who also wrote the previous one.

Much of the cast will reprise their roles, including Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, and others.
