Levi Hummon announced on Friday, Jan. 26, the release of "Love Heals," a track he sang with Alison Krauss and cowrote with his father, the American country singer Marcus Hummon.

"Love Heals" is now available for purchase at iTunes for $1.29, where fans can also hear a preview. The acoustic ballad perfectly harmonizes Krauss sweet vocals with Hummon's pop sheen as they sing about messages of hope and encouragement, which the title aptly relays.

In an interview, Hummon revealed that "Love Heals" is a tribute to his mother's Thistle Farms charity in his hometown of Nashville. Pastor Becca Stevens' charity helps recovering addicts and survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking.

The 26-year-old singer and songwriter revealed that he had always wanted to team up with Thistle Farms on a song he cowrote with his musician father, who has written hits like "Bless the Broken Road" and "Cowboy Take Me Away." "Love Heals" is the product of that collaboration.

Talking about the single, Hummon said that "Love Heals" has a personal touch, because it contains the messages his mom preached to him and his brothers and so much more.

"It's the message my mom preached to me and my brothers, it's the melody my dad sang to me, it's the story of the women who came off the streets and in turn helped raise me. On top of all that, it's featuring Alison Krauss, one of the most iconic voices in music," Hummon told Rolling Stone.

The musician, who has a penchant for pop, R&B, and country music, also took to his Twitter to thank the support of Krauss.

"[Three] years ago I got to perform with @AlisonKrauss at The @TJMartellNash Awards honoring the work of my amazing mother. Today I got to release a song which features her beautiful and iconic voice. I'm so unbelievably grateful for her support and willingness to be a part of #LoveHeals," Hummon wrote.

Hummon first gained recognition after his songs, one of them "Make It Love" from the movie Two: The Story of Roman & Nyro, caught the attention of Desmond Child. The music producer, whose artists include Kelly Clarkson and Bon Jovi, signed him to his publishing company, where he worked with the likes of Steven Tyler.

Hummon eventually signed with Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Records and released his self-titled debut album in April 2016. "Love You Hate You Miss You," one of the songs in the five-track album became a hit on streaming services. Then in 2017, Hummon released the single "Don't Waste the Night," which is inspired by Ed Sheeran.
