Rapper Juelz Santana is on the run after he was spotted with a gun at the Newark Liberty Airport checkpoint.

Sources reveal that Santana submitted his carry-on bag for an X-ray inspection at Checkpoint C-1 at around 6:05 p.m. on Friday, March 10. A Transportation Security Administration agent noticed that the rapper's carry-on bag contained a firearm. Police officials were then called to the scene.

"Upon discovery of the firearm, the individual left the checkpoint and went back into the public area," said a rep for the Transportation Security Administration.

A few hours after Santana fled the scene, authorities from the Totowa police department confirmed that they went to the rapper's home at 11 p.m., but he was not there.

This is not the first time that Santana had a run-in with the law. In 2011, he was convicted of three indictable offenses on three different occasions. At the time, he was charged with multiple weapons and drug offenses, including carrying a firearm without a permit. Police officers also found 17 plastic bags containing marijuana in the rapper's possession.

Juelz Santana Opens Up About The Diplomats

Last year, Santana also made headlines after he weighed in on the issues surrounding The Diplomats. Band members Cam'ron and Jim Jones started an online spat after the latter announced that he has signed with Jay-Z's Roc Nation.

Santana said that the members of the band should stick together, and he also said that fans are not happy with the fights.

"Cam and Jim, they definitely not seeing eye to eye right now. But you know, they brothers. Cam and Jim got a history that's deeper than my history with them. They were rocking with each other hard before I came in. To an extent, I give them that respect when it comes to their relationship. I don't pick sides either," said Santana.
