RZA reveals that he tried to buy back Wu-Tang Clan's album Once Upon A Time in Shaolin. The ultra-rare single copy was purchased by Martin Shkreli.

Before Shkreli was convicted of a felony, he listed the album for sale on eBay, and RZA tried to purchase it from him. During an interview, the singer shared how he tried to acquire the album.

"The first thing I did was call my lawyer, and I was like, 'Yo, let's go.' They said, 'All right, check with your contract.' And it's no, you can't do it. Ain't that a b****?" said RZA.

As of late, it is still unclear what will happen to Wu-Tang Clan's album. Earlier this month, Shkreli was ordered to forfeit the record to the United States government after he was sentenced to seven years in prison. At present, Shkreli's lawyers filed an appeal against the decision on the forfeiture of the asset.

RZA Talks About 'Once Upon A Time In Shaolin'

During the same interview, RZA likened Once Upon A Time in Shaolin to the Mona Lisa painting.

"It's kind of crazy. The record has become an entity, very different from a lot of albums. It's like the Mona Lisa. It's got its own folklore, and that's what me and [co-producer] Cilvaringz wanted," explained RZA.
