DJ Critical Hype released a mixtape called The DAMN. Chronic featuring Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre on Tuesday, April 3.

The DAMN. Chronic features a few cuts from Lamar's DAMN album as well as the masterful production skills that Dr. Dre showcased on his debut compilation The Chronic. Some of the songs included in the mixtape are "The Heart Pt 2," "Compton's Finest," "My Name Is," and "Lil Ghetto Boy."

DJ Critical Hype released a statement regarding the mixtape, and he praised the two artists for their work.

"Kendrick has so many flows, voices, and styles, plus Dre beats are really incredible, so I figured it would be dope," he said.

However, the DJ also admitted that the mixing process for the album did not come easy. After all, Dr. Dre only has a few slow beats.

Kendrick Lamar Recounts Meeting Dr. Dre

In a recent interview, Lamar gushed over Dre and said that he is a huge fan of the musician.

"It came to a point where I had to really snap out of fan mode and become a professional because after we were introduced, he said he liked my music and I said that I'm a fan of his work," said Lamar.

"Then he said, 'Okay, now write to this, write a full song to this.' Right after I said, 'Man, Dr. Dre, you're the greatest,' he was like, 'Yeah man, you're good, too, you could be something... alright now write to this beat.' And that beat ended up being the first song I did with him and ended up on my album called Compton."

Compton State of Mind was released in 2015, and the album featured the songs "Kendrick Lamar," "Cloud 10," "My Mind Drifts," "LMAO," "Little Johnny," "Beyoncé," Young Boys World," "Compton State of Mind (Ft.
