Liam Payne is collaborating with J Balvin on the song "Familiar." The former One Direction member has made the announcement on social media.

Via his Instagram account on Monday, April 16, Payne shared a photo of himself with J Balvin. The two men have huge smiles on their faces. Payne also confirmed that "Familiar" will be available on Friday, April 20, on Spotify.

In February, Payne and J Balvin hinted at their collaboration. At the time, they revealed that they were filming a music video in Miami. The 32-year-old Colombian singer also shared a selfie with Payne then.

In his live session on Instagram a few months ago, J Balvin had also surprised his fans when he called Payne and asked him to speak in Spanish. Payne was totally game during the live session, and he spoke in Spanish throughout their entire conversation.

Liam Payne Hints At One Direction Reunion

Other than the upcoming release of "Familiar," Payne also made headlines after he had seemingly hinted at One Direction's possible reunion. In a recent interview, Payne said that a reunion is indeed possible because he, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan had talked about it.

"We've all spoken about it, the dream for this most fantastic show. I think it will happen at some point," said Payne.

Liam Payne Says One Direction Didn't Split Up

In 2015, the members of One Direction announced that they agreed to pursue their solo music careers. Two years later, Payne said that it didn't mean that British boy band has officially split. While at the BRIT Awards last year, Payne received the gong for Best British Video for the group's song "History" on behalf of One Direction.

"Well I mean this is amazing thank you so much. I know I speak on behalf of the boys when I say I cannot believe we are still winning these and the sheer devotion that our fans have shown online for this is absolutely amazing. We've been taking a bit of time out and working on our solo material but one direction still we are and it's who we will always be," said Payne.

Songs, Albums

After temporarily departing the group, Payne has released a slew of songs that will be featured in his forthcoming solo album. "For You," "Strip That Down," "Bedroom Floor," "Get Low," and more will also be part of his debut solo compilation.

Payne's other albums with One Direction are Made in the A.M., Four, Midnight Memories, Take Me Home, and Up All Night.
