Arctic Monkeys debuts their new song at a show in San Diego, the first since the band's last live gig in 2014.

On Wednesday, May 2, the quartet from Sheffield played to a massive crowd at the Observatory North Park in California. The Arctic Monkeys sang four songs from its new album Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino. The group sang tracks such as "You're So Dark," "505," "Four Out of Five," and "She Looks Like Fun."

Prior to the group's performance of their four new songs, frontman Alex Turner first asked fans if they missed the band. The first track that Arctic Monkeys performed on Wednesday night was "The View from the Afternoon." The song is included on the band's 2006 debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.

The members of Arctic Monkeys, namely Turner, Matt Helders, Jamie Cook, and Nick O'Malley also performed songs from their Favorite Worst Nightmare, Humbug, and Suck It and See albums. They played a total of seven songs together.

Alex Turner Talks About 'Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino'

Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino will be released on May 11. Ahead of the launching, Turner explained why the music project will not drop as his solo album. Last month, Cook said that the compilation will serve as Turner's solo record, but things changed before its release.

"I was never interested in making a solo album. I am part of this band and one would disrespect the other. Nevertheless, I wanted to make this music, it was in me. When you compose on the piano, you automatically get different results than on the guitar. And it was important for me to say goodbye to the realism of most of the Arctic Monkeys stuff," explained Turner.

The frontman also shared that after he had finished his first demos, he invited Cook to listen to them. They eventually worked on the tracks together. Cook also recorded a few guitars, which helped Turner out a lot. They later decided to ask O'Malley to help them in the studio, and he agreed.

Some of the songs that will be featured in Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino are "Star Treatment," "One Point Perspective," "American Sports," "Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino," "Golden Trunks," "The World's First Ever Monster Truck Front Flip," "Science Fiction," "Batphone," and "The Ultracheese."

The album will serve as Arctic Monkeys' sixth studio LP.
