Dierks Bentley performs onstage at the 2014 CMA Festival on June 5, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee.
For the past 10 years, the CMA Songwriters Series has featured some of the genre's top songwriters. Songwriters like Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Patty Loveless and Phil Vassar have performed their songs in the Nashville "in the round" style and shared the stories behind the songs. Thus far, the writers behind 61 CMA Song of the Year nominations have been featured.

This year, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the series, PBS filmed an episode featuring Dierks Bentley for their popular series, Front and Center. Dierks was joined by singer-songwriters Brett James, Jim Beavers, Jon Randall and Ross Copperman, as well as Jessi Alexander (Randall's wife).

The evening was as laid back as it gets, with as much laughter as great music, and the stories weren't all about the songs. Going out with Kenny Chesney and the hangovers that came calling the next day, was also a popular topic.

The other country band slated for this year's Front and Center is Lady Antebellum with Counting Crows, guitarist Joe Satriani, singer-songwriter John Hiatt and Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers also all scheduled for the fall season.
