On Friday, Music Times reported that the Beastie Boys album Paul's Boutique is turning 25 years old, and in order to commemorate the date, artist Danielle Mastrion was hired to paint a mural on the spot where the album cover was photographed. Well, this past Saturday, Mastrion took to the project and delivered an incredible piece of work, as Mass Appeal reports.

The work is an absolutely stunning tribute to the "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" singers, and a huge win for New York City's Lower East Side neighborhood.

Spearheaded by LeRoy McCarthy, the painting comes at the tail end of a long, but important attempt to have one of the streets renamed Beastie Boys Square. And while that project did hit a wall, the mural succeeded rather wonderfully in showing the true legacy the Beastie Boys have left behind.

Check out the mural and a handful of shots from Mastion's Instagram feed below. Also included is a video of the Brooklyn-based artist at work.

Showing Mastrion at work, the Instagram photos (and video) display the artist putting her finishing touches on the piece, the full mural and even McCarthy at her side with a sign reading "Beastie Boys Square."

Sure, the neighborhood committee may have shot down renaming the street, but it seem everyone in attendance this past Saturday knows full well what the corner represents.

Now ... let's celebrate with some Beastie Boys classics!
