Lenny Kravitz has shared his latest single “Sex,” which you can listen to below. The song is the first single off of Kravitz’s upcoming album Strut, which will be out on September 23 through Roxie Records. Strut will be Kravitz’s tenth studio album, his first since 2011’s Black and White America.

While Kravitz has been accused of ripping off Jimi Hendrix in the past, on “Sex” he seems to be taking cues from another legendary guitar player: Prince. Of course, any pop song explicitly about sex is going to be a least a little bit reminiscent of Prince, but the song’s funky backing track brings back memories of the Purple One’s ‘80s heyday, as well as other prominent pop-rock artists of the era such as Duran Duran and INXS, though Kravitz’s voice and melodies aren’t nearly as effective.

As for the song’s lyrics, they read like non-descript placeholders that were recorded prior to the actual lyrics being written, and are nowhere near the level of Prince’s masterfully preposterous innuendos.

Here are the song’s lyrics:

I feel the flames of your fire and it’s burning my heart
Girl, you’ve got game and my number, and it ain’t gonna stop

Hold me, love me
Call my name, I just want you to feel me
Breathe me, tease me
Can’t control how I feel when you’re near me
I can’t do nothing about it

Got that feeling comin’ over me
(Sex, sex, sex)
Girl, love is the only remedy
(Sex, sex, sex)

I can’t contain my desire and I’m coming apart
I’m just a slave for your pleasure and I’m waiting to pop

Hold me, love me
Call my name, I just want you to feel me
Breathe me, tease me
Can’t control how I feel when you’re near me
I can’t do nothing about it

Got that feeling comin’ over me
(Sex, sex, sex)
Girl, love is the only remedy
(Sex, sex, sex)
