Gal Gadot attempts to share positivity amid the Coronavirus pandemic by leading other celebrities in singing John Lennon's "Imagine" in an Instagram video uploaded earlier, March 19.

The Israeli actress tries her hand at uplifting the masses with the video sporting the caption "We are in this together, we will get through it together." The now-viral video opens with the Wonder Woman star speaking in front of the camera, explaining how the past days have got her "feeling a bit philosophical." She also gave credit to the online clip of an Italian man playing the trumpet from his balcony to the tune of John Lennon's "Imagine," calling it "powerful and pure."

Following her lead is a series of Hollywood celebrities singing Lennon's iconic hit in a cappella, one line at a time. In the video were her WW co-star Kristen Wiig, Mark Ruffalo, Jamie Dornan, James Marsden, Zoe Kravitz, and a lot more.

However, the video has received mixed reactions from online citizens. The snippets of the celebrities mostly show the celebs singing their parts from inside their spacious and cozy homes. Those who sang along from the outside seem to be framed by picturesque forests.

Love and support poured in the video's comment section, from other celebrities to the average Joe. Some Instagram users called the video "beautiful," including actresses Jessica Chastain and January Jones, who also noted that Will Ferrell "better keep that hair."

However, not everyone is aboard the feel-good wagon as some IG users called out the "tone-deaf" and "insensitive" attempt at lifting spirits.

One user shared, "I love her and all, but I'm growing a little tired of celebrities and their uplifting messages that we're in all of this together and in the same boat. No we're not. They are financially secure. No worries." The commenter then aired her grievances about being suddenly laid off without severance and the worries of staying afloat in the middle of this crisis.

Singer Sebastian St. John called the video "tasteless" and that he has "lost respect" for everyone who appeared in the sing-along.

Even other news and media outlets chimed in the apparent detachment of these celebrities from reality. Joel Golby, a writer for the British newspaper The Guardian, opens, "We're too worried about contagion, lost income and feral gangs to watch millionaires singing Imagine in mansions. Aren't we?"

Meanwhile, Vogue's Emma Specter takes a lighter swipe at the Gadot-Imagine hullabaloo by listing 13 things she thought while watching the viral video, mostly pointing out the celebrities' fashion choices. Its sister publication, Teen Vogue, was not as kind. Features editor Gabe Bergado pulled no punches in their op-ed, stating that "it feels a bit disjointed and out of place considering how grim things are."

As of this writing, Gal Gadot's virtual sing-along has more than 6 million views on IG. Their positivity stunt with Lennon's "Imagine" has gone viral, but partly for a different reason. You can watch the video below.
