English singer-songwriter Charli XCX will be recording her new album, tentatively named "How I'm Feeling Now," with the recording process shared online earlier today, April 6.

In her Twitter video, she said that for her, "staying positive goes hand in hand with being creative." The British pop artist decided to use this "isolation time" to make an album from scratch. She also shared that the contents of the album will be "indicative of the times just because I'm only gonna be able to use the tools that I have at my fingertips to create all music."

"In that sense, it'll be very DIY."

Charli XCX also explained to her 3.52 million followers that she would be reaching out to people with whom she would collaborate. She also plans to "keep the entire process super open so that anybody who to watch can."

The 27-year-old artist will be posting her a cappella session, the demos for the tracks, even her text conversations, and emails with collaborators will be available for her fans. She also added that she would film herself recording in the studio or set up Zoom conferences to crowdsource inputs from fans. Charli XCX also plans to set up an email for fans to send their ideas.

The Twitter announcement is the latest effort from the "Break The Rules" singer to stay connected with her fans in the middle of the quarantine period due to the coronavirus outbreak. A few weeks ago, Charli launched her daily "Self-Isolation IG Livestream," focused on delivering online news to support the people forced to stay indoors. She also announced that her daily Instagram aims to "spark conversation, share insight, or simply entertain fans across the world," practicing social distancing.

Her debut episode was joined in by Christine and the Queens, who collaborated with Charli for "Gone" and discussed the effect of the shelter-in-place orders on their mental health and creativity. The following episodes featured a variety of programs featuring artists Diplo, Rita Ora, Kim Petras, and Clairo.

Born Charlotte Emma Aitchison, Charli XCX began her career performing in parties and warehouse raves before landing a recording contract with Asylum Records. She started gaining mainstream recognition with the 2013 collab with Icona Pop, "I Love It." She released her debut studio album in the same year, titled "True Romance," which was well-received by critics but not performing as well commercially.

In 2014, she sang the chorus to Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" to commercial success and two Grammy Awards nominations. She would later release "Boom Clap," her first solo hit, and her third entry to the Billboard Hot 100's Top 10 singles. Before the year ended, Charli released her sophomore studio album, "Sucker," which spawned the hit tracks "Doing It" and "Break the Rules."

Aside from her music career, she also co-writes songs with other artists. She has co-writing credits for Iggy Azalea's "Beg For It," Blondie's "Tonight," and the Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello collab hit, "Señorita," released last year.
