A fan-made redesign of Katy Perry's album cover went viral. "FAMEKILLED", a 19-year-old fan named by Insider as Peter, made a new design for Katy's album; it was posted on Twitter on July 11.

Peter made a colorful redesign of the album cover of "Smile," the upcoming fifth studio album of Katy Perry. Peter's post got the attention of several famous people, including Katy Perry, according to MSN.

The design earned positive feedback, especially from loyal Perry fans known as "Katycats." As per MSN, the album art thrilled people on social media to compare Perry's previous works.

Peter's reaction after going viral

The teen who made the fan-art said he didn't plan to make a redesign of the "Smile" cover. However, when he saw a hint of the clown and circus visuals, he imagined what it could've been on a bigger scale. When he started putting the idea together, the result came so well, said Peter according to Insider. Peter used the clown imagery from the original album cover and turned Katy Perry's blue-white checked outfit to a circus tent. He added that it took him one or two days to do the art.

The idea was inspired by the FX television show "American Horror Story," and Peter used Adobe Photoshop to manifest his ideas. Also, Peter added exploding fireworks and winding roller coasters behind Katy Perry's image.  The teen was so happy that people loved his work.  Though he got big reactions to his previous designs, Peter said that the art he made for Katy Perry was completely new.

Peter is known by his Twitter username, "FAMEKILLED." He has more than 7,400 followers and has been a stan Twitter since 2015. Also, he told Insider that he is a super fan of Lady Gaga. According to Insider, Peter is a self-taught artist. His post on Friday has been retweeted 12,000 times and received over 80k likes.

Peter asked Insider not to share his last name as many on stan Twitter keep on hiding their personalities online to separate their real-life identities. Peter thought that Perry was not serious when the singer invited her to design the next album of Perry. However, he said that he welcomes the opportunity.

Peter is now working on finishing a design he will submit to a campaign for Lady Gaga's recent release, "Chromatica." Lady Gaga recently announced her collaboration with Adobe, which aims to let the fans submit their art as part of the promotion for her "Chromatica," and Peter is into it.

Redesigned album cover caught the attention of Katy Perry

Across the widespread reaction to the fan art, Katy Perry's interest was caught. She shared the design in a tweet that caught even more attention than the original album cover. Perry's post garnered 16k retweets and more than 160k likes. The singer wrote to her post in response to the design, saying, "calling you for the next record."

 

Peter responded through a tweet saying, "OH, I'M ALL FOR THAT."

The fans call for Perry to change the album cover circulated across social media. Wherein, nearly 200 people signed Change.org petition to change the design cover of "Smile" album.

As per Billboard, Katy Perry previously revealed that the her post showing an artwork of the album is part of the promotional campaign of her fifth album named "Smile," which will be released on August 14, featuring Perry on her blonde hair and donning a clown nose.
