Brockhampton will face the worst scenario every band fears.

This week, Brockhampton just confirmed that they may no longer perform as a group in 2022.

According to the Monday announcement of Brockhampton's leader, Kevin Abstract, the band will mark its seventh and possibly final album this year.

This followed his initial tweet in March about the possible disbandment. At that time, Abstract said that Brockhampton would release two new albums in 2021 - the latter would be their last.

In April, they already released the first of the aforesaid two albums, titled "Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine."

They sure knew how to properly say goodbye to fans as the band made sure that it would be fully packed. Brockhampton's April album featured artists including A$AP Rocky, Charlie Wilson, Danny Brown, and JPEGMafia, among others.

Upon its release, it immediately nabbed positive responses to fans, pushing it to No. 1 spot on U.S Billboard 200.

Brockhampton's Disbandment: Why They Will Break Up

Before Abstract announced the coming of their final album, the band sat for an interview with GQ and revealed more details about the decision.

According to Romil Hemnani, their departure has been a long time coming. They reportedly want to try focusing on their individual careers after performing together for over a decade.

"At a certain point, people deserve to give their lives to themselves. So it feels like it's time to let everyone just spread their wings and do the things that they want to do," he added.

Meanwhile, Abstract added that he feels like they already achieved everything as a group. Thus, it will be fine for them to grow apart now. Still, he noted that there are things they have not accomplished as a group yet, including having number one songs.

Dom McLennon, for his part, compared their journey to a group of monks that make sand mandalas. Per the artist, the monks throw the mandalas into the river once they finish making it.

So, their disbandment will serve as a work of art that will die in a natural way.

Throughout their decade-old career, the hip-hop boy band has released several studio albums since 2017 - Saturation, Saturation II, Saturation III, Iridescence, and Ginger.

They also established their empire in front of cameras and filmed "Dreams Die Young," "American Boyband," "The Longest Summer in America," and "Keeping the Band," among others.
