Scottish indie pop heroes Belle and Sebastian have announced a vinyl reissue series of all of their studio albums, as well as two compilations and one live album. The series is titled "It Could Have Been A Brilliant Career," named for the opening track to the band's 1998 album The Boy with the Arab Strap. The reissues will be released through in the UK on Oct. 6 through Jeepster Records, and in the US on Oct. 7 through Matador Records.

The series includes reissues of the albums Tigermilk (1996), If You're Feeling Sinister (1996), The Boy with the Arab Strap (1998), Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant (2000), Dear Catastrophe Waitress (2003), Push Barman To Open Old Wounds (2005), The Life Pursuit (2006), The BBC Sessions (2008), Write About Love (2010), and The Third Eye Centre (2013). Notable exclusions from the series are the band's soundtrack to Todd Solondz's 2001 film Storytelling, as well as the 2005 live album If You're Feeling Sinister: Live at the Barbican.

In addition to announcing this reissue series, the band has also revealed that they are putting the "finishing touches" on their ninth studio album, their first since 2010's Write About Love. The album has not yet been given a title or a release date.
