Two people will take particular pleasure in Brad Paisley's new music video: A) Children and B) that guy who's been sending you the links to every Annoying Orange episode since it was founded during 2009. Indeed the video for "Limes" features the country star transformed into a fruit of the title variety, interacting with the still creepy citrus.
The plot, if you can call it that: Annoying Orange is having a bad day, and who better to complain to than Brad Paisley the lime? The country icon is recognizable thanks to his goatee and white cowboy hat, plus a bass guitar for good measure (an especially difficult instrument for a fruit to play, not having hands...or fingers). Lime informs Orange that he too is having a rough one, what with truck breaking down, his dog having the flu and his mother getting out of prison (note: We're not making any of this dialogue up).
The solution of course is that "when life gives you limes, you make margaritas."
Paisley is gearing up for his new album Moonshine in The Trunk, and this is among the first bits of promotion for it that he's been authorized to do. The performer and Rising Star host has been dropping clips from the album on Twitter to the displeasure of his label, Arista Nashville. Paisley also posted images on his social media of alerts from his bosses requesting that he stop.
It sounds cute, but it's got a rather grindhouse element to it. Numerous live limes are sliced in half brutally onscreen and Paisley himself gets tossed into a blender whole and ground up into margarita. We wouldn't go as far as saying it was NSFW however.
