Nothing beats going out while you're on top. And yet we still feel some degree of disappointment that Darkside is already calling it a day after only one album. The electronic act, a collaboration between Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington, announced Sunday that the group would at least be going on hiatus.

"Darkside is coming to an end, for now," the official Twitter account of the band stated. "We'll be playing our last show in brooklyn on sept 12...Thanks for listening and supporting us this year."

So yes, fans of excellent underground electronic music: You'll be able to catch the group one last time if you haven't already. The duo will be playing a show at Brooklyn's Masonic Temple, an excellent setting for electronic music, if this year's Robert Henke/Haxan Cloak show was any example.

The group also dropped two new tracks to console us. The tracks are titled "What They Say" and , all too appropriately, "Gone Too Soon." Both tracks will be included in a forthcoming compilation album titled WORK, showcasing work from Jaar's Other People label.

Darkside first gathered attention after releasing its self-titled EP during 2011, the band's first year in existence, and cemented its legacy with the critically acclaimed Psychic album last year, the pair's only full-length release.
