It's kind of hard to believe Kanye West's father once worked as a paparazzo.

According to The Daily Mail, Mr. West made the reveal during a deposition in a civil lawsuit brought by celebrity photographer Daniel Ramos

"My father was a paparazzo himself. My father was a medical illustrator, a Black Panther, a Christian marriage counselor," West told Ramos' lawyer during his deposition. "My mother was the first black chair of the English department in Chicago State. They didn't raise me to be out here wrestling with random paparazzi in front of LAX."

Last year, photos of the altercation between West and Ramos hit the internet. The scuffle took place outside of Los Angeles International Airport after West says Ramos began to antagonize him while leaving the airport.

West also claims that the altercation occurred when he learned his grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr., was growing ill and dying. He insists While he never hit or tried to hurt Ramos although West admits to trying to take his camera.

The "Bound 2" rapper has made his dislike of the paparazzi known on several occasions, even in his music.

"Til I got flashed by the paparazzi/Damn, these n***as got me/I hate these n***as more than a Nazi," he rapped on a track entitled "Flashing Lights" from his Graduation album.

As previously reported, Kanye West called for a celebrity civil rights movement against paparazzi during a deposition.

"I'm in the business of trying to make dope s**t for the world. You're in the business of representing scums and trying to make as much money as long as there's this lapse in the law," he said to the photographer's lawyer, Nate Goldberg.

West pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge related to the incident. He was sentenced to two years of probation, 24 anger management therapy sessions and 250 hours of community service.
