Lyric Opera of Chicago's annual "Stars of Lyric Opera at Millennium Park" concert is a golden opportunity to hear a preview of Lyric's upcoming 2014-15 season, as well as operatic gems from seasons past. This year's free concert will take place in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion on Saturday, September 6 at 7:30 pm.

The program begins with Wagner's overture to Tannhäuser, and continues with more highlights from the upcoming season, all conducted by music director Sir Andrew Davis: the Act One finale of Puccini's Tosca, featuring baritone Mark Delavan and tenor John Irvin; and the final scene of Mozart's Don Giovanni with baritone Mariusz Kwiecien, sopranos Marina Rebeka and Ana María Martínez, and bass Andrea Silvestrelli, among other star soloists.

Lyric's full production of Don Giovanni will begin on September 27 at the Civic Opera House, and Tosca is scheduled to begin its run on January 24, 2015.

The Millennium Park program also includes the entire third act of Verdi's Rigoletto, with Mark Delavan as Rigoletto, Marina Rebeka as Gilda, and Antonio Poli as the Duke. The Lyric Opera Chorus will sing famous opera choruses including "Patria oppressa" from Verdi's Macbeth.
