There were wedding bells this Labor Day weekend for Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross. After a fairytale romance the musical couple got married on Sunday night (Aug. 31) in a private Connecticut ceremony.

According to E! Online, Simpson and Ross got married after a slight rain delay in Greenwhich, Connecticut at the home of Ross' legendary mother Diana Ross.

The couple tied the knot in the company of family and friends. Simpson's bridesmaids were a celebrity affair, with big sister Jessica Simpson as the maid of honor and family friend/Donald Faison's wife CaCee Cobb also by her side.

It was all about family for Simpson and Ross. The bride was walked down the aisle by her 5-year-old son Bronx Mowgli Wentz, and Ross' mother officiated the ceremony.

What a special occasion!

Simpson and Ross' wedding comes just a little over a year after they first went public with their relationship in July 2013. After a whirlwind courtship, Ross popped the question in January with a stunning oval-shaped Neil Lane engagement ring.

This is the second marriage for Ashlee Simpson. She was previously married to Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz for three years, though they eventually split in 2011. They have one child together, the previously mentioned Bronx Mowgli.

The marriage of Simpson and Ross is a combining of two musical families. Ross' mother is, of course, the legendary Supremes singer Diana, but Simpson has a musical past of her own. She released three albums in the 2000s, with her last LP Bittersweet World dropping in 2008.
