Today it was announced that a new box set of George Harrison's solo work is set for release on Sept. 22. According to Harrison's website, George Harrison: The Apple Years 1968-1975 will contain the former Beatle's first six solo albums, all of which were originally released through Apple Records.

The set will contain the albums Wonderwall Music, Electronic Sound, All Things Must Pass, Living in the Material World, Dark Horse, and Extra Texture. In a statement shared through his website, Harrison's son Dhani expressed his excitement for these reissues, saying, "Some of these records have long been out of print, and so I cannot wait for music lovers to get their hands on these newly remastered versions."

"It's a very proud moment for us," Dhani Harrison went on to say, "and I would like to thank everyone who has helped us in any way to achieve this." The box set is currently available for pre-order through George Harrison's website. Each of the remastered albums will also be made available for purchase individually.

The package will come with an exclusive DVD featuring video pieces and a new seven-minute film featuring previously unseen footage of Harrison. Also included is a book with an introduction by Dhani Harrison, essays by producer and author Kevin Howlett, and previously unseen photographs. With the exception of Electronic Sound, each of the reissued albums will contain bonus tracks of rare and previously unreleased music.
