Last year, Fall Out Boy embarked on a mission to Save Rock and Roll and released its first new album in five years - but the LP was not a fluke. Yesterday (Sept. 8), the "Alone Together" band released a new single from its forthcoming sixth studio album, the Suzanne Vega sampling "Centuries."

Pulling from the classic early '90s hit "Tom's Diner" and its signatures "doo doo doo" hook, Fall Out Boy remix the haunting track with the help of labelmate Lolo.

"I feel like it was so ubiquitous when we were kids," FOB lead singer Patrick Stump said in an interview with Radio.com. "I mean, that song was absolutely everywhere and it just kind of disappeared. I haven't heard it in a minute. And I was like that's a shame. That was such an amazing song. I would love for that to get some kind of tip of the hat."

Appropriating "Tom's Diner" for "Centuries" gives the "David vs. Goliath" song an intense, driving mood. "Remember me for centuries," Stump boldly sings in the chorus, seemingly pumping himself up for battle.

The track has now been accompanied with a sem-music videos, with black and white footage of Fall Out Boy's hometown Chicago zooming with distorted colored effects.
