It's been eight years since the world has heard a Gwen Stefani solo record and over two years since No Doubt released new music, but soon it seems like we may have both. In a new interview, upcoming The Voice coach Gwen Stefani announced that she has been hard at work on a new solo album with Pharrell and that new No Doubt music may be coming, too.

"Right now I'm really all about the music. I feel like I've spent the last year really focused on fashion," Stefani said in an interview with MTV News at New York Fashion Week. "I'm really thinking about music a lot."

When asked whether or not she was working on a follow-up to her solo 2008 effort The Sweet Escape  or regrouping with No Doubt, Stefani emphasized that she didn't have to pick one over the other. "At this point, I'm thinking about both. I can do both. It's such an amazing time with so many opportunities. I'm going into the studio tonight with Pharrell. I'm going to be writing and also seeing what comes along my way," she said. "I've been recording things."

Stefani's fellow Voice coach and previous collaborator Pharrell had some enthusiastic things to say about his girl's new record, citing his work with Miley Cyrus as a marker for his success.

"You gotta hear this new Gwen record," he said. ""When I tell you she's killing it, it's another level. Gwen is somewhere else."

Stefani's new music has yet to receive a release date or more information, of course, since she's still in the studio. But she'll be very visible soon as a coach on The Voice, which will premiere on NBC on Sept. 22.
