    Action Bronson's highly anticipated album 'Mr. Wonderful' dropped today, March 23, and fans can stream the effort via Spotify. Chance the Rapper, Big Body Bes and Party Supplies are featured on the album, which was co-produced by Mark Ronson and The Alchemist, among many others. The effort is Bronson's first LP for a major label, coming out on Atlantic's Vice imprint, 'Consequence of Sound' noted.

Murphy's latest track from the collection is an instrumental cover of David Bowie's "Golden Years."
  • Metallica's Been Suffering From Financial Risks Since 2010, According to a New Book

    The members of Metallica haven't exactly been cashing in on their status of heavy metal royalty. A new book titled Into the Black claims that since 2010, the "Enter Sandman" group has most likely lost more money then its made. The authors cited the band's two Orion festivals and the 2013 movie Through the Never as reasons for Metallica's poor financial state.

    The trailer for Spike's new show 'Lip Sync Battle' has a lot of good things going for it. First, there is Jimmy Fallon, who uses the game often on 'The Tonight Show.' Then there is John Krasinski and Stephen Merchant, two of the minds who developed the idea. And finally there is a slew of celebrities -- Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Lopez -- putting on lavish performances while not singing a word.
  • Suge Knight's Self-Defense Claims Might Be Valid After Cle Sloan Remarks

    Suge Knight is facing charges of murder and attempted murder following a January incident where he allegedly ran over Cle "Bone" Sloan and Terry Carter. Knight claimed he tried leaving the scene when two men instigated an altercation. Recent remarks by Sloan that he was attacking Knight may validate the former Death Row Records head's self-defense claims, the '(New York) Daily News' noted, via 'The Source.'
  • Tower Records Doc 'All Things Must Pass' Features Dave Grohl, Elton John

    There seems to be a resurgence in independent record stores nowadays as chain retailers continue to fold. Tower Records was one of the biggest music chains around from 1960 to 2000, and many famous musicians have an attachment to the store. Actor Colin Hanks began working on a documentary about Tower Records in 2008, two years after it declared bankruptcy. The documentary 'All Things Must Pass' debuted at South by Southwest this week. The director talked about the film, which took so long to make because of funding issues, prior to a screening. He mentioned two big music names -- Elton John and Dave Grohl -- as supporters of the record store, 'Billboard' noted. Slash also appeared in the film.

    Adele's '21' recently dethroned Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black' for the title of Biggest Selling Artist Album of the Millennium in the United Kingdom. The singer's bestseller LP has sold almost 5 million copies overseas since its 2011 release. 'Billboard' pointed out that the Official Charts Company released a report today, March 19, that includes the revised list of bestsellers in the U.K.
  • Marvin Gaye's Family Issues Open Letter on 'Blurred Lines' Verdict, Won't Seek Legal Action Against Pharrell's "Happy"

    Marvin Gaye's family shared an open letter yesterday, March 18, regarding the recent verdict in the "Blurred Lines" lawsuit. A jury ruled that Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams owed the family $7.4 million because the pair's hit copied Gaye's 1977 track "Got to Give It Up." The family believes that if Gaye were alive today, he would embrace all the technological advances in music.
  • Scott Borchetta: 'American Idol' Contestant Maddie Walker Did Not Rupture Her Appendix

    Maddie Walker was in visible pain last week on American Idol, and after she sang "She's Country" by Jason Aldean, she was escorted off stage by a doctor. Taste of Country reports that former contestant Savion Wright tweeted that Walker ruptured her appendix (the post has since been deleted). Scott Borchetta said the rumors were false, but not much else is known about Walker's ongoing condition.
  • Phish Shares Summer Tour Dates: Shows Include 10th Magnaball Festival

    Phish will hit the road this summer following frontman Trey Anastasio's gig filling in for Jerry Garcia at the Grateful Dead reunion shows. The trek will kick off in Bend, Oregon, on July 21 and wrap Sept. 6 in Commerce City, Colorado. Notable stops include July 25 at The Forum in Los Angeles, Aug. 11 at The Mann in Philadelphia, and Aug. 21-23 at Magnaball in Watkins Glen.
  • Jack Bruce Tribute Concert Scheduled for October: Ginger Baker Will Perform

    The initial lineup for a Jack Bruce tribute concert has been announced, and it includes the Cream bassist's former bandmate, Ginger Baker, on drums. Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, Vernon Reid of Living Colour and Joss Stone of Superheavy are also scheduled to perform at "Sunshine of Your Love: A Concert Celebrating the Life & Music of Jack Bruce" on Oct. 24. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, more performers will be announced.

    'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' is broadcasting from South by Southwest all week, which means producers have scheduled some great acts to perform on the show during its residency. Spoon kept the good times going last night, March 17, performing "Rainy Taxi" and "I Just Don't Understand" from their new album 'They Want My Soul,' 'Spin' noted. It was a homecoming performance for the band from Austin.

    Congressman Alan Schock resigned recently after spending campaign money for personal use. The Illinois politician reportedly spent funds on private jet rides, 'Downton Abbey' office decorations and tickets to see Katy Perry in concert. According to 'The Washington Post,' Schock used $24,000 of money donated to his campaign for the items.

    Bonnaroo has announced the daily lineups for the 2015 edition of the music festival, and each day is even more impressive than the next. This year's roster includes headlining sets by Tove Lo, deadmau5, Mumford & Sons and Billy Joel. Kendrick Lamar will also be featured. As per usual, Saturday and Sunday boast the best lineups, but Thursday and Friday are looking just fine.
