• AC/DC sells out Wembley Stadium Tour Stop in Less Than An Hour

Last week Music Times confirmed that AC/DC would be playing its first dates in the UK since 2009, including a headlining spot at the prestigious Wembley Stadium, perhaps the biggest gig available in England. Recent changes to the band's lineup haven't disrupted its popularity in the region apparently. The band's Wembley concert sold out all of its nearly 73,000 tickets in less than an hour
  • Luke Bryan Top Jukebox Artist of 2014 According to TouchTunes; AC/DC, Eric Church and Lynyrd Skynyrd Right Behind

The bar crowd has spoken: Luke Bryan is the undisputed jukebox champion of 2014. TouchTunes, which supplies establishments with digital music machines, announced its most-played artists and songs recently, and the Crash My Party singer is at the top on the list. As Billboard points out, it makes complete sense with tunes like "Play It Again" and "Drink a Beer." AC/DC, Eric Church and Lynyrd Skynyrd were right behind Bryan.
  • Taylor Swift and '1989' Still on Top; Pentatonix Still Challenging, AC/DC Debuts New Album 'Rock Or Bust'

Taylor Swift keeps on trucking following the Thanksgiving sales binge, keeping her no. 1 spot for 1989 for a fourth week with 244,000 equivalent sales. All told, Swift has been atop the Billboard 200 for 29 total weeks through her career. The only women ahead of her are Mariah Carey wit h30 weeks and Whitney Houston with 46, and it seems Swift could catch the former act next week if 1989 keeps its sales up.
  • AC/DC's Phil Rudd Allegedly Threatened to Kill Man, His Daughter, 10: Prosecutors

The case against AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd continues to get worse. Details of the allegations against the percussionist were released last week, and they are pretty rough. His murder-for-hire charge was already dropped, and Rudd pled not guilty to the remaining threatening-to-kill and drug-possession charges. Now New Zealand prosecutors claim Rudd called the victim and threatened to kill him and his 10-year-old daughter in September, "The Guardian" reported. According to the publication, Rudd had made a phone call prior to threatening the victim in which he spoke to a third party and outlined what he wanted to do. The drummer did not deny possessing methamphetamine or marijuana. He will return to court Feb. 10. Police in New Zealand raided Rudd's home in November, executing a search warrant when they found the drugs. The charge of trying to procure the services of a hitman was dropped shortly after his arrest when prosecutors decided there was not enough evidence for the claim.
  • Coachella 2015: AC/DC, Jack White and Drake Rumored to be Headlining April Festival

The 2015 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is about five months away and the rumor mill on who will headline is already turning. AC/DC, Jack White and Drake are all current favorites to show up at the festival as long as they accept the invitations, Hits Daily Double notes. The website also claims that organizer Paul Tollett of Goldenvoice has standing offers of $8 million out to Led Zeppelin, The Talking Heads, The Smiths and the original Guns N' Roses to appear at the festival.
  • Lionel Richie Confirmed for Glastonbury; Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters Still Want to Play

Lionel Richie is the first big name secured for Glastonbury's 2015 festival. The "All Night Long (All Night)" singer will perform during the event's Sunday afternoon slot, which is historically reserved for some of the most-respected names in music. Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen and Brian Wilson have all played Glastonbury's Sunday afternoon set. Dolly Parton had the honor last year, drawing an enormous crowd, "NME" noted. No headliners have been announced, and Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters have yet to receive a call about performing at the legendary festival. "I'm really excited to play Glastonbury next year, as it's one of the most iconic festivals in the world," Richie told "The Guardian." "It has a phenomenal history and the alumni of artists who have previously played is incredible, so I'm honored to be joining that club. It will be a really special moment for me and I can't wait to share it with everyone. I can now say, 'Yes, I'm playing Glastonbury.'" Organizer Emily Eavis was ecstatic to book Richie, saying there will be "a lot of love" for the artist at Glastonbury. Earlier this month, Grohl suggested that Eavis contact his band to play the festival, but that call has not come yet. "She hasn't called — I have not gotten the call yet," he said. "The Foo Fighters haven't been there since 1998, so er ... and that's a fun festival." Eavis seemed open to the idea when the frontman suggested it, though.

  • [STREAM] AC/DC Share New Album 'Rock or Bust' a Week Before Release Date [LISTEN]

Hard rock fans can stream AC/DC's new album "Rock or Bust" in its entirety a week ahead of its release over at iTunes, "Consequence of Sound" notes. The band's 15th international release will be available Dec. 2. The group put out two singles, "Play Ball" and the title track, dropping a video for the latter just yesterday, Nov. 24. "Rock or Bust" will be the first AC/DC effort not to feature rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, who retired from the band due to dementia. The new album will be the band's follow-up to 2008's "Black Ice." Produced by Brendan O'Brian, who also sat behind the controls for "Rock or Bust," the album marked somewhat of a comeback for the band. They struck an exclusive deal with Wal-Mart for distribution of the album, but there has not been any word on whether that will be the case with their new album. "Black Ice" was not immediately available for download, either. AC/DC plans to head out on a world tour after the release of "Rock or Bust." "Music Times" will keep you posted on that.
  • AC/DC Drop 'Rock or Bust' Video: Aussie Rockers Play for Fans in Clip [WATCH]

AC/DC's new video for the title track off their next album, "Rock or Bust," showcases what the band has been about for more than 40 years. The group, minus Malcolm Young and Phil Rudd, perform the new song to a legion of frenzied fans in the video. It has been a long journey for the Australian rock outfit, but they continue to rock just as hard as their "Back in Black" heyday. "We be a guitar band / We play across the land / Shootin' out tonight / Gonna keep you up all right," Brian Johnson sings on a glowing, circular stage in the video below. Rather then being set up on a platform above its fans, the band, like always, holds its loyal rockers above themselves in the video. Angus Young shuffles and steps in his signature schoolboy outfit like a Chuck Berry imitator. Check the clip out below.
  • AC/DC Share 'Rock or Bust' Title Track, Stream Band's 2nd Single [LISTEN]

AC/DC has shared its second single from the upcoming "Rock or Bust" album. The heavy title track has the Australians at their rock 'n' roll best, proving why they have been able to maintain an impressive career for more than four decades. Although guitarist Malcolm Young is not on the track and drummer Phil Rudd has a lot to deal with as of late, the group is living proof of the motto "Rock or Bust." "You hear the guitar sound / Playin' nice and loud," Brian Johnson sings with his iron lungs. "Rock you to your knees / Gonna make your destiny." The riffs are loud, the drums are earth-shattering and Angus Young's guitar work is still a marvel — head to the 1:58 mark for the traditional face-melter. AC/DC crams in so much heavy metal muscle into this three-minute rocker. Check it out below, via Blabbermouth.
