• ZHU, Major Lazer, Chromeo Added To Shaky Beats 2016 Lineup

    Atlanta already has several dance music-oriented festivals, but this spring it is getting another from C3 Presents, the same promoter who puts on Skaky Knees Music Festival, Lollapalooza, LouFest, Austin City Limits and others. C3 has taken the "Shaky" name and gone dancing, inaugurating the Shaky Beats Music Festival this spring. The lineup has been mostly announced but they saved some big names for one last push including Major Lazer, ZHU and Chromeo.

    Skrillex and Diplo's powerhouse duo, Jack Ü have unveiled the remix package for the next single to arrive from their debut album together as a duo Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü. The remixes come for their collaboration with AlunaGeorge "To Ü." The track gets twists and reworked by a variety of artists including Armand Van Helden, Oliver, George and Clean Bandit, who are not known for their remix work.

    The mysterious Los Angeles-based producer, ZHU has come alive. After months of staying totally silent, ZHU unveiled a brand new website generationwhy.com, which has just a large word scramble and an email sign up. Once you sign up, it tells you what number sign up you are. Within the word scramble there is a list of artists who ZHU is collaborating with on music that will presumably appear on his upcoming album or at least an EP. Among those that have been spotted so far are Skrillex, Alunageorge, A-Trak, Gallant and interestingly enough Bone Thugs N Harmony.

The lineup exudes a coolness with its bookings, including names like Run The Jewels, Panda Bear, Ghostface Killah, Nicolas Jaar and many more.
  • Disclosure, AlunaGeorge Being Sued By Songwriter Claiming They Stole Her Lyrics

    Disclosure are among a group of artists being sued by an unknown East London songwriter who claims to have written lyrics to their songs. Katie Farrah Sopher is seeking £200,000 ($303,351) over claims that the electronic sibling duo took lyrics from a songbook of hers that was stolen by a "violent" ex-boyfriend, Sean Sawyers in 2009, who then passed it along to music industry contacts. The songs in question are Disclosure's "Latch," featuring Sam Smith, "White Noise," and "You and Me" featuring Eliza Dolittle. Sopher is also suing Alungeorge over claims that she wrote lyrics to their hit song "Attracting Flies." Alunageorge's Aluna Francis also sang vocals on Disclosure's aforementioned "White Noise."
