• Stream Carl Craig, Green Velvet's Surprise Album 'Unity'

Stop the presses: Dance music just got a surprise album. Detroit techno legend Carl Craig and Chicago house music legend Green Velvet have released a new, collaborative, surprise album titled 'Unity.' Released on Relief Records, the longtime home of Green Velvet, the seven-track album combines the best of both worlds from these two artists's warm, pulsating beats, steady tech-y bass lines, sporadic bells and synths with horns, helping to give more weight to the tunes. Some tracks eschew more toward the side of Craig's techno roots and some toward Velvet's house background, but there is a clear middle ground met between these two electronic music greats. • Claude VonStroke, Green Velvet Form Side Project 'Get Real,' Announce Tour

Spontaneous pairings seem to be coming back in vogue in dance music. Skrillex and Diplo have started touring and releasing music as Jack U. Dillon Francis and Flosstradomus, though not an official duo, have been billed on festival lineups together as Dillstradomus. The legendary duo of Sharam and Dubfire got the band back together in 2014 to reform Deep Dish after an eight-year hiatus focusing on their own solo careers. Now a new pairing has been announced and will be hitting the road together. Dirtybird Records don Claude von Stroke and Green Velvet have formed the new duo Get Real and will be taking their act on the road for three special shows to close out the year, via "Dancing Astronaut." Though neither has explicitly explained what "Get Real" means, it can be implied that they will be playing "real" house music far removed from the main stages at festivals and better suited for dark nightclubs.
