It may seem like the 2014 inductions to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum just happened, but it's already time to start the process all over again. Today (Oct. 9), the nominees for the class of 2015 were announced, and include some rock juggernauts including Lou Reed, Green Day, The Smiths and Stevie Ray Vaughan. -
Music Times Casts 'Doctor Who: The Musical' and Offends Whovians Everywhere
The "Symphonic Experience" sounds great, really, but being uncouth Americans like we are, we couldn't help but wonder if a more pop-oriented TV-opera is a possibility. But then of course we'd need real people to provide the vocals for the various characters. We don't want to invite controversy by even suggesting an actor to portray the titular Doctor, but we're more than happy to suggest musicians to portray his worst enemies. -
8 Great Punk Covers of Classic Songs
If an artist does a cover version of a song, but doesn't really change anything about it, then there's not really a point in doing it at all (listen to Seal's version of "Let's Stay Together" and tell me why it had to be made). Kraftwerk Bringing '1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8' Residency to Los Angeles
Normally when we refer to electronic music and Tomorrowland, we're talking about a music festival in Belgium. This time however, we're referring to the forthcoming concert series from Kraftwerk to take place at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles (it was a bad joke and we apologize). In all seriousness however, the pioneering German electronic group will bring its collective retrospective "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8" to California in March.
