Tech N9ne's Strange Music has announced a big, two-month tour across the United States. Titled the Independent Powerhouse Tour 2016, paying homage to the label's impact as an independent label, the string of shows will include label head honcho Tech N9ne, in addition to other signees like Stevie Stone, Mayday, Rittz and Krizz Kaliko.
  • Stevie Stone Not Strange Enough for Label, New Album 'Malta Bend'

Society always celebrates the records that top the Billboard 200 album chart. Back of The Billboards is a Music Times weekly segment that looks at the opposite end: the new record that finished closest to the back of the Billboard 200 for the previous week. We hope to give a fighting chance to the bands you haven't heard of. This week we look at 'Malta Bend,' the fourth album from independent rapper Stevie Stone.
  • Photo Recap of Rock on The Range 2015: Linkin Park, In This Moment, Tech N9ne and More

Some might argue that the range of musical styles present at Rock on The Range will never live up to the diversity of a Lollapalooza or Coachella. That may be true, but when you have bands ranging from In This Moment to Godsmack to Tech N9ne appearing in the same vicinity, you'll certainly get the most diverse looking bunch of people at one festival. Let Music Times sums up its weekend at America's largest rock festival with this collection of photos, no reading required.
  • Tech N9ne on 'Special Effects' Guest List, Hard Interjections and Planned Pusha T Collaboration [EXCLUSIVE]

Tech N9ne is having a good year, recently eclipsing his best sales week ever with new album 'Special Effects' and now headlining the Ernie Ball stage at Rock on The Range in Columbus, OH. The emcee sat it with Music Times to discuss the new album, breaking through to rock fans (and hip-hop fans), stealing drummers from his former tour partners, and also hinting at a Pusha T collaboration to come...hopefully sooner than later.
  • Mumford & Sons Drops, Tech N9ne Sets Personal Record on Albums Chart

This week Warner Music became the first major label to report higher earnings from streaming than digital downloads, but album sales seem to be doing alright for Mumford & Sons, which tops the sales chart by selling 249,000 copies of 'Wilder Mind' this week. That's a sizable number but more than a 50 percent drop off from the band's previous album, 'Babel,' which debuted with 600,000 copies sold (the biggest rock debut of the decade thus far, in the band's defense).
  • Mumford & Sons Top Billboard 200, 'Fifty Shades' Gets Mother's Day Boost

Mumford & Sons remains a rock band to beat on the Billboard 200, gathering its second no. 1 record with Wilder Mind. Although the band's original alternative fan base has raised an eyebrow at the use of electric guitars on the new set, sales still came out to 249,000-trailing only Drake and Kendrick Lamar for biggest debut of 2015 thus far. Although nothing to frown at, it's still a relatively low sales figure for Mumford, which sold 600,000 copies of Babel when that album dropped during 2012.
  • Eminem & Tech N9ne Finally Collaborate On 'Special Effects' Track

Per usual, the effort will feature a handful of guests including Eminem, Lil Wayne, T.I., Yo Gotti, E-40, 2 Chainz, B.o.B., Slipknot's Corey Taylor and Audio Push as well as underground acts such as Hopsin, Zuse, Krizz Kaliko, and Big Scoob.

  • Tech N9ne Annoucnes Tour Promoting New Album 'Special Effects'; Murs and Chris Webby Opening

Tech N9ne will be releasing Special Effects during the first week of May, and although we haven't seen a tracklist yet, the Kansas City emcee has already booked a full list of tour dates. The rapper—joined by Murs, Chris Webby, King 810 (notable for being a metal band, not a hip-hop group), ZUSE and of course his buddy Krizz Kaliko—will cram nearly 50 dates into less than two months.
