Matty Healy made headlines and garnered attention from the public after Taylor Swift released her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, as fans theorized that many of the songs were about him. A source recently revealed that the musician wanted to leave the past behind and focus on his future.

An insider spoke with People magazine to share that The 1975 frontman is "tuning out the noise" after his famous ex-girlfriend appeared to have written songs about him.

Instead, Healy is said to be focused on his band's next project as they are now writing songs for the follow-up of their 2022 record, Being Funny in a Foreign Language.

Although Swift has never explicitly named her ex-boyfriend in one of her songs, many fans theorize that the clues behind the tracks lead to the Manchester-native vocalist.

Healy only made one comment last month after a paparazzi approached him to rate his "diss track," to which he replied, "My diss track? Oh!... I haven't really listened to that much of it, but I'm sure it's good."

On the other hand, his aunt, Debbie Dedes, spoke with Daily Mail, noting that nothing surprises her nephew anymore.

"He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on... She writes about all her relationships, doesn't she?... I don't think it will come as a shock to him at all," she said.

Earlier this month, a source spoke with Us Weekly magazine, who said that The 1975 frontman is "uncomfortable" regarding the attention he received after the new album came out, especially now that he's currently in a relationship with model Gabbriette Bechtel.

"Matty still thinks very highly of Taylor but we were all nervous about what she might have said on the album," the insider added, noting that he was happy with the album's outcome.

The outlet also reported that Healy received a heads-up from the pop star's team about the new album's contents before it was released.

Swift and Healy's relationship made headlines in 2023 after they were spotted a few times together. Although they never directly confirmed their romance, they were seen kissing in New York City.

Their romance didn't last; they reportedly dated for a month before the pop singer moved on with her new boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce.
