Jelly Roll has been through a lot, and he's not afraid of sharing his dark past with the public, as he wants to inspire others. More recently, the country singer made a big move by returning to his old high school after being told as a young man that he would never be allowed to return.

The musician's wife, Bunnie Xo, took to her official TikTok account to share a video of her husband returning to Antioch High School in Tennessee.

In the clip, the singer can be seen wandering through the hallways of his former alma mater while interacting with different people who were able to get their items signed.

Later, he performed in front of hundreds of students at the school's basketball court.

Bunnie Xo then wrote a few things to share more details about the visit, saying she got the call about her father passing while they were on the way to the school.

"They told my husband he would never be allowed back into his high school when he was younger," the online content creator said of her partner, who was first arrested when he was 14 years old.

She later noted that she watched her husband walk the school grounds, perform, and be welcomed by students and staff.

"The love and giving back that they showed my husband was the sweetest thing ever to watch," she said.

Bunnie Xo added that seeing smiles on those students' faces was priceless and that it was what she needed at that moment.

The recent video comes after Jelly Roll's father-in-law, Bill, passed away. The Dumb Blonde podcast host previously revealed that her dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and she took a break from the singer's tour to visit him.

Bill later underwent a second hip replacement surgery earlier this year.

Jelly Roll has been using his platform to share his tragic story and inspire others. According to CBS News, the musician has been in and out of the Metro-Davidson County Detention Facility for a decade under different charges like drug possession, shoplifting, drug dealing, and aggravated robbery.

"There was a time in my life where I truly thought... this was it. And then coming here, you know, just after getting nominated for two Grammys, it just hits different... I didn't think I'd get emotional, to be honest," he said after receiving his first-ever nominations from the Recording Academy.
