Legendary fiddle virtuoso Charlie Daniels is bringing his classic all-star country concert back to Nashville next August.

Rolling Stone reports that Volunteer Jam is scheduled to take place next year on Aug. 12 at the Bridgestone Arena. No acts have been revealed, other than Daniels and his band, but the infamous concert series has pulled in some monster acts in years past. Guests have included Dickey Betts, The Marshall Tucker Band, Billy Joel, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Don Henley and Shooter Jennings. Most notably, at the fifth installment in 1979, members of Lynyrd Skynyrd performed for the first time since the plane crash that claimed the lives of guitarist Steve Gaines, backing vocalist Cassie Gaines and frontman Ronnie Van Zant.

On the band's most recent release, which came out in April, Daniels and co. covered some Bob Dylan tunes on Off the Grid: Doin' It Dylan. "I've always been a big fan of his," Daniels said in an interview with Billboard about his 31st studio effort. "We decided to record an acoustic album. We recorded one cut for a TV show a little while back, and liked the way it sounded. So, we said 'Let's do an album that way, and I thought what better than an album of Bob Dylan tunes. So, we went in and cut ten of them. They're Bob Dylan tunes, but we definitely did them in CDB style."

The country music great went on to talk about his love of touring. "That's the cream of the crop for me," he said. "That's why I do this. I love it all, recording, writing, publicizing it, and everything about it. But, the one piece that I love above all the rest is performing for people live. There's nothing I do that compares with that. I just thank God that I can make a living doing something I enjoy so much."

Tickets for the upcoming Volunteer Jam will be available in the spring, RS notes.
