Marvin Hamlisch planned on leaving Terre Blair his Oscars even if she divorced him, that's just the kind of man he was. Blair now is returning the favor and having her late husband's back as she files a lawsuit for medical malpractice on the time of his death.

A much-needed kidney transplant back in 2012 may have been the smoking gun in this case, but according to the filed complaint, his physician, Dr. David Cohen, had misdiagnosed the problem early on, allowing Hamlisch to travel with symptoms of breathlessness, weakness, anxiety, chills, nausea, exhaustion and low blood pressure.

Hamlisch had stopped in to see Dr. Cohen on July 30 and was immediately discharged, where he was told it was safe to fly to Los Angeles to score the HBO film Behind the Candelabra. Hamlisch collapsed on arrival in L.A. and slipped into a coma.
