The hip-hop/punk outfit, Death Grips, recently announced a lengthy tour that kicks off in June. The group, which broke up last July, has been teasing its fourth studio album, The Powers That B, since October. Death Grips will hit 26 North American cities in support of the album, wrapping things up July 25 in San Francisco at The Fillmore.
The band shared the second half of its new album last week in the form of Jenny Death (the first half, N*ggas on the Moon, dropped last year). Death Grips had hinted that The Powers That B might be its final album, but more music may be in the band's future.
"You're right, we might make some more," a message on the band's Facebook page read, accompanied by a Billboard article.
In July, a tour and new music seemed far from probable.
"We are now at our best and so Death Grips is over. we have officially stopped. all currently scheduled live dates are canceled," the band wrote. "Death Grips was and always has been a conceptual art exhibition anchored by sound and vision. above and beyond a 'band.' to our truest fans, please stay legend."
