Grimes' Claire Boucher plans to release the follow up to 2012's Visions this fall. The tracklisting to her forthcoming LP, although yet to be revealed, is set to include "a lot of diss tracks" according to her recent front cover profile in Fader.

Undoubtedly shaped by the 20-something's well-known status as a feminist, Boucher's new album also features a track that goes beyond the singer's previous lyrical themes. Soon after her profile went live, the Canadian synth-pop icon's intentions were quickly reinterpreted by Vice as being "aimed at music industry misogynists." In response, the indie starlet fired off a series of tweets in response: "In my quest to be taken seriously I've been reduced to another kind of token female," followed by, "It's a disservice to feminism to paint me so aggressively anti male all the time."

Despite the media's attempt to pigeonhole the Polaris prize winning songwriter, Boucher remains pragmatic in her creative approach. "I live in my own house that I pay for. I bought all this equipment myself. I control my own life now," Boucher explained in her recent interview with Fader. It can be suggested that independence goes hand in hand with aesthetic evolution. If proven to be true, Girmes next LP will be one indicative of lyrical and structural maturity and experimentation. Her potential remains limitless. "Women can do technical work," she stated in her Fader profile. "I can be a producer and a pop star and also very experimental."

Set to drop via 4AD in October, Grimes new record has already proven itself to be one of the fall's most buzzworthy LPs. Further details related to Vision's follow-up have yet to be released, yet it is rumored to be filled with cameo appearances by her many alter egos. In the meantime, fans will have to satiate their appetite for new tracks with recent favorites like "REALiTi."
