Adele has been all over TV this week to promote the release of her new album 25. After taking over The Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live, on Wednesday (Nov. 25), the "Hello" singer stopped by 30 Rockefeller Plaza one more time for an appearance on The Today Show and a performance of her stunning album cut "Million Years Ago."

Accompanied solely by an acoustic guitar, Adele sang the classically-inspired song with a sense of dignity. She tapped into her smoky lower register and executed it flawlessly, of course.

After her performance, Adele gave a hearty shout-out to the legions of fans who listened to her outside in the cold, with her big ol' hearty chuckle, of course.

During her time on TODAY, Adele also sat down with Matt Lauer to talk about all of her great commercial and personal success, from her record sales to the birth of her son, Angelo, as well as her inspiration for her songwriting. Surprise, it's sadness.

"I think it's just a way of channeling it. I don't think that sadness is always devastating. It can be quite uplifting and joyful as well. I think you have to let yourself be sad order to move forward. Once you start looking at it like that, I was quite happy still. I didn't feel like I needed to let myself go in order to access my creativity. That was good," she said.
