Game Of Thrones Stunt Guy Reveals Kit Harington Does Most Stunts Himself
The guy responsible for the stunts on Game of Thrones is pretty impressed by Kit Harington, the actor who plays the role of Jon Snow.
According to Rowley Irlam, stunt coordinator of the fantasy television series, the 31-year-old is responsible for most of his own action scenes. He does not need a double because he is actually pretty good at it.
While there will not be new episodes of the hit drama this year, HBO has released a behind-the-scenes look at its previous seasons. In a new video published on Facebook Thursday, Jan. 26, the network gave a peek into the making of season 5.

Another actor who performs his own stunts and has impressed the stunt coordinator is Kristofer Hivju, the actor who plays the role of Tormund Giantsbane. Irlam said the wildling leader is equally impressive as an action star.
"The thing about Kristofer: you don't have to build him up, you have to just reign him back a bit. And not a dangerous, reckless way, he's just full on," he said. "[A]nd the stunt guys love it. So it was really cool working with him."
For Jorah Mormont, there is hardly a need to use a body double.
"Iain's another one who doesn't fool too much," he said about Daenerys's (Emilia Clarke) sworn protector. "[H]e picks up the fights really well, wants to do it all himself, so we hardly used the double."
Irlam also worked on big blockbuster movies such as Skyfall and The Bourne Ultimatum. Needless to say, he knows what he is talking about.
'Game of Thrones' Season 8
There likely will be more action in the eighth and final season of the fantasy series as winter has finally arrived in Westeros. Jon Snow, who is part of Daenerys' army, is expected to face off with the Night King for one last battle.
Meanwhile, Tormund Giantsbane's fate is still uncertain after the character fell with the wall in last season's finale. A report from October claims that Hivju was spotted in Northern Ireland, which only means that his character is still alive and will play an important role in the final season.
Iain Glen said that he would like his character's death to be a fulfillment of his promise. Jorah Mormont, he said, should die taking a blade that was meant to pierce Daenerys.
Game of Thrones season 8 will air in 2019 on HBO.
