In a recent TikTok video, Grimes shared a video of her dancing to the song "100% Tragedy." She captioned the post, "My label thinks this isn't a single what do y'all think?"
Then one follower asked the "Genesis" singer why she was even signed to a label but responded, "Need to get out of the gate-keeping of indie music and I need $ for music videos etc."

Upon learning of this newest revelation, Twitter users had a field day. @kissmeriver tweeted, "I'm gonna think about how Grimes f-----d a billionaire for free for the rest of the week."
Another Twitter user said, "Grimes liking Elon Musk for who he is rather than for his money is so much worse. Lmao."
A social media user gave one of the best advice, tweeting, "Your dating Elon Musk. Just make his threaten your label, sweetie."
In an interview, the "Oblivion" hitmaker revealed how she admired how the Tesla founder lives his life and put his money into making the world a better place.
She told Business Insider that Musk doesn't fund her career and that she would feel guilty if he would divert funds from Tesla "to my stupid art project."
"Grimes is funded by Grimes. I can't say the things I say and believe what I believe and then take money from my boyfriend."
In another interview with the Rolling Stone, Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, revealed, "If someone's just gonna take everything and just put it into R&D to make the world better, and just get up at the f------ crack of dawn every day and go to bed really late every night, doesn't take vacations and just actually puts every single ounce of his energy in everything he cares about and all his money into making the world better?"
