Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter might be bigger than Renaissance, the first act of what many expect to be a trilogy album.

After a successful opening weekend, it is expected to hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter' Billboard 200

According to Hits Daily Double, Cowboy Carter will surpass Renaissance on its opening weekend. In 2022, Renaissance only opened to 332,000 album equivalent units. Meanwhile, Cowboy Carter is expected to take in at least 350,000 album units. Streaming for the album is already estimated to be 250 to 300 million official streams for the 27 tracks.

On the first day of its debut on Spotify, it hit 76 million streams, the most for any album in 2024. "Jolene" has already reached No. 2 on Spotify and No. 3 on Apple Music. Meanwhile, Beyoncé's collaboration with Miley Cyrus, "II Most Wanted," has already reached No. 7 on Global Spotify.

Meanwhile, on Amazon Music, Cowboy Carter earned more first-day streams globally than any of her previous albums. The album also marks the most first-day streams for a country album by a female artist in Amazon Music's history.

Comparatively, Cowboy Carter earned more streams globally than Renaissance did. The Grammy-winning dance album only amassed 43.25 million streams, while Cowboy Carter was streamed 76.13 million times on its first day. On US Spotify, Beyoncé has charted seven of her 27-track album on the Spotify Top 10, led by "Jolene" at No. 3.

Beyoncé's 'Cowboy Carter' Reviews

Critics have since praised Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter.

"Clever, sexy, angry, soulful, witty and fantastically bold, Beyoncé stirs up the western and puts the you know what into country. I think it's a masterpiece, but don't expect to hear it at the Grand Ole' Opry any time soon," The Daily Telegraph said in their rave review of the album.

The Independent gave their flowers and tipped their cowboy hats to Beyoncé for her thrilling escapade to the country music genre.

"It's a reminder that country music has always been about "three chords and the truth." Beyoncé's truth shines here with the fierce strength of the Texan sun. Cowboy hats off to her, they wrote.
