Hip-hop mogul and Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dame Dash is calling on some of his musician friends for help in his $25 million lawsuit against director Lee Daniels.

Dash has named Mariah Carey and Kanye West as potential witnesses after slamming the "Bound 2" rapper for lack of support for Kareem "Biggs" Burke, who played a part in starting Roc-A-Fella.

According to the (New York) Daily News, Dash filed an updated complaint at Manhattan Supreme Court Sept. 22 in which he claims Carey and West can attest to his financial involvement in such films as PreciousThe Butler and The Paperboy. Dash said both artists played roles in helping him build Daniels's success. He is suing Daniels for producer credits and money.

Jay Z's former right-hand man claims that in addition to pitching in $2 million, he got West to promote the first film Daniels produced — The Woodsman — in 2004 by performing at specific venues where advertisements ran for the film. He said he also played a role in convincing Carey to appear in the 2008 film Tennessee.

In the suit, Dash is also suing Daniels's manager and co-producer Simone Sheffield for defamation of character and recently extended the complaint to Daniels's lawyer James Sammataro.

"Regrettably, it's easy to make allegations," Sammataro said in a statement. "Proving the allegations is a different story, and the precise reason why the judicial system exists. Mr. Daniels looks forward to the court's scrutiny of the merits of Mr. Dash's misguided claims."

It is a little ironic that Dash has listed West as a witness, considering he revealed an uneasiness toward the rapper back in July during an interview with Shade 45's VIP Saturdays with DJ Superstar Jay.

"I'm a little tight with Kanye 'cause he hasn't reached out to Biggs. I don't like that s---. So Kanye, holla at me," he said.

Maybe the two have hashed things out since then. Stay tuned for more updates.
