Just when it sounded like Kate Middleton was feeling better and had crawled out from beneath the sickness that has plagued the first several weeks of her second pregnancy, we are learning she has backslid a bit.

Middleton was expected to make an appearance at a London primary school this morning to celebrate the opening of a new location of The Art Room, a charity she is involved with.

Unfortunately, the duchess was forced to cancel at the last minute with the Palace, releasing a statement on her behalf saying, "I am truly sorry that I cannot be with you all today as you celebrate this milestone. As patron of The Art Room, I feel great pride to see the work that the charity is doing."

Middleton's last successful public royal engagement was in July, and the Palace announced her pregnancy last month when her serious sickness began again, making it obvious that something was going on. Rather than let the press start circulating rumors or rare ailments, the royals preferred to take the risk of announcing Middleton's pregnancy early to explain why she is missing in action.

Some royal watchers believe Middleton is pushed too hard and that the expectations on her are too great while suffering from the kind of sickness that required hospitalization when she was carrying Prince George nearly two years ago.

Middleton and her husband, Prince William, have often downplayed things and seem to really want to be treated as normally as possible.

If that is the case, then should Middleton be required to suffer through trying to work during the early stages of pregnancy just like a commoner would have to? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
