It finally happened. American music royalty met British royalty. While attending a Brooklyn Nets game last night (Dec. 8), Prince William and Kate Middleton were greeted by Jay-Z and Beyoncé during a timeout, Billboard notes. The pairs exchanged pleasantries before play resumed. Check it out in the video below.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge landed in NYC Sunday and went to a private event hosted by the American Friends of the Royal Foundation in Manhattan. William then went to the World Bank to promote his wildlife protection agenda Monday (Dec. 7) while Middleton visited a child development center and went to lunch with the British Consulate General. That all happened prior to the Nets game.

On Tuesday (Dec. 9), the royal couple will check out the Sept. 11 memorial site. They will visit an inner city youth center before a black tie affair. It's a pretty busy schedule considering Middleton is carrying the couple's second child.

Jay-Z and Bey are taking it easy after the big year they had. The pair embarked on a 17-city tour over the summer that wrapped in Paris in September. HBO aired a special that highlighted the Paris dates later that month. Despite there being some divorce rumors, Jay-z and Bey renewed their wedding vows in October. There also may be a joint album in the works.

Bey dropped three singles - "Flawless," "Pretty Hurts" and "Partition" - this year from her 2013 self-titled release. Jay-Z only shared "Part II (On the Run)" from Magna Carta Holy Grail, but he's also been featured on Rick Ross' "Movin' Bass" single.
