24-year-old Regional Mexican singer Gerardo Ortiz just debuted the video for is single "Mañana Voy a Conquistarla" or "Tomorrow I'll Make Her Mine."

The video was directed by filmmaker Danny Hastings, who photographed the album covers for Wu-Tang Clan's Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and has worked with Don Omar and Prince Royce, and features Mexican actress Thalia Garcia as Ortiz's love interest in the animated video.

According to Billboard, Hastings and Ortiz worked for months to create the look of the video. "I wasn't looking for a conventional animation, or 3D," Hastings told them. "I wanted to have an organic feel to the video, almost like a papier-mâché style with stop motion type of animation."

Hastings explained to them that the idea was to mix live performance with animation to pay homage to Ortiz's fans. According to the article, this approach to music videos is not common in Mexico, but it's out-of-the-box modern thinking is one of the reasons Ortiz has managed to be so successful.

"Collaborating with someone like Gerardo is ideal because he can see the big picture early in the process," Hastings told them. "He also knows what he wants and takes an active role in making sure his vision becomes a reality."

The video features Ortiz in story-book-like animated farm. He serenades Garcia at her window, and then travels with her to different picturesque locations. It ends with the two lovers flying away into the night in a hot-air balloon.
