Apparently back in 2004, Comedian Drake Sather was trying to create a remake for FOX of the 1960's show Mister Ed. Now with an audio recording to back it up, it seems the rumors could possibly be true that Ol' Dirty Bastard, before he passed away, had auditioned for the role of the talking horse.

Beware of the Blog, run in Hoboken, New Jersey at radio station WFMU was the first to reveal the MP3. Dangerous Minds reported on the recording and the facts behind the potential series.

"It was the project of Drake Sather, a standup comedian whom I vaguely remember who tragically committed suicide not long after Ol' Dirty Bastard died of an overdose. The series was in the pipeline at FOX-Sherman Hemsley beat out ODB for the role of the equine rapscallion (assuming ODB ever tried out for the part)."

It's unknown if this audition is even real. But if it is, Sather had an admirably unique approach to reinventing the character of the horse. Sadly, the series doesn't even exist.

Dangerous Minds had some additional insight. "Alternately, there are two other possibilities-either ODB and his crew were messing around, having fun or else it's someone else. If it's someone else, then that person gets the genius points, whoever he is."

The audio features ODB saying, "You should be thanking me, buying me carrots and whiskey." And, "If these things get published, they'll put Viagra out of business," and "Did you know that there are over 10,000 sites of horses having sex with people? That's crazy talk, Wilbur! Horses can't use phones!"

Listen to the recording below. It's pretty ridiculous.
