Sia is ramping up her press appearances in the lead up to her 2016 album release of This Is Acting including a new in-depth interview in Rolling Stone in which she discusses her experiences writing with the world's biggest pop stars including Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Adele, Kanye West and Rihanna.

Well, the latter two she was actually duped into writing for, as she'd been promised to meet the artists and write with them but then they'd never show.

"They'll entice me into a session by saying, 'Rihanna will definitely be there' or 'Kanye will definitely be there,' but it's hilarious because I turn up and, almost always, they never come," she said

Elsewhere in the interview she talked about her crossover to pop music, saying it was hard for her to reconcile with how hokey all the songs were, especially her work with David Guetta and Flo Rida.

"I think that the stuff I write for pop music is terribly, terribly cheesy, but I'm coming from an indie background," she revealed "For me, "Titanium" is very cheesy. And "Wild Ones" is definitely 100 percent cheese. It was quite confronting to start writing in that way. I never intended or wanted either of those songs to be seen because I felt like it diluted my credibility because I found them to be very cheesy. I wanted other people to sing them, and I just wanted to collect the publishing checks at the end of the day."

She said those songs ended up really helping her career and secured her place as a pop songwriter. Between the money and the recognition for her work, it helped Sia overcome her insecurity around the cheesiness of those songs.

As Vulture points out, Sia also revealed that she's written some more material for Beyoncé who is working on "something," but there's no word yet on what that could be.
