Amir Obe, formerly known as Phreshy Duzit, has finally released his newest project, Happening in The Grey Area. The follow up to his hit 2014 mixtape, Detrooklyn, is a reminder to why we were feeling his music in the first place.

Happening in The Grey Area has a real mellow vibe to it and shines a light on Obe's lyrical skills as well as his singing voice. The 10 track EP features PARTYNEXTDOOR on two tracks -- "Truth For You" and "I'm Good." Most of the production comes from none other than NYLZ. The rest of the production on Happening in The Grey Area was done by WondaGurl, The Mekanics, OZ, Daniel Worthy, Brian Dekker and Eli Sostre (featured on the track, "Still No Good.")

Obe started his musical career by posting his tracks on MySpace and gaining traction with over 100,000 fans. After posting a good amount of tracks on the site and releasing the video for "Good Mourning," Obe and NYLZ decided to invest a bit more in their music and put all their focus into Detrooklyn. After the release, Obe got Drake's attention and he ended up working on the track, "Star67" and since then has been trading ideas with the OVO rapper. Because of this, it has been rumored that Obe is signed to OVO but he has made it clear that he is still unsigned.

Raised in Detroit, Obe has also built a good relationship with Big Sean and often exchanges musical ideas with him. And if it wasn't obvious already, Obe has a good standing friendship with PARTYNEXTDOOR as well. The artists met through social media and were sending each other beats before they both blew up.
