In case you have not heard, Noah Cyrus is following the footsteps of famous father, Billy Ray, and sister Miley.

Recently, the young singer released a music video to the song, "We Are..." an anthem about her generation. It is also the lead single of her upcoming debut album, NC-17.

Her Own Spotlight

"I'll change the world / Save all the trees and birds," Cyrus sings. "But first I'll grab a Starbucks and I'll get to work."

"We Are..." is produced by Max Martin, a renowned record producer and hit-maker who worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Maroon 5, and Katy Perry. The song also features Danish singer-songwriter .

The 18-year-old Cyrus has always been in the spotlight coming from a celebrity family. However, she has started making a name for herself last year with "Make Me Cry" which peaked at number 22 on Billboard's songs chart. The track released in 2016 features singer/record producer Labrinth.

"Make Me Cry" also debuted on the top spot of Spotify's Viral Global Chart a few hours after it was released. It has so far been streamed 420 million times on both audio and video platforms.

Last year, she also earned a trophy for Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Talking about the new song, Cyrus explained that "We Are..." is about being different in a world full of copies.

"Where's the originality in people now? Like MØ! MØ is so cool, MØ looks nothing like anyone else that you would see right now," the young singer told Zane Lowe in an interview. "And I think that's the thing with 'We Are Fucked:' We are all becoming this society where we just all are the same."

As for her album, Cyrus said that she got a little personal while making NC-17. She revealed that she was going through a break up when she was writing the songs for her debut record.

"In the beginning of last year, I was going through a breakup while writing," the 18-year-old told Billboard. "But now, I'm not heartbroken anymore — it was for the best and I think a blessing in disguise."

NC-17 is set to arrive this year and will likely feature songs Cyrus released last year such as "Stay Together," "Again," and "I'm Stuck." There is no exact release date as of this moment but, with the release of "We Are...," the album might be right around the corner.

In the meantime, her songs are available for streaming on Spotify
