Miley Cyrus is being sued by a Jamaican dancehall artist. Flourgon claimed that the former The Voice coach infringed on his song "We Run Things."

In 2013, Cyrus released her hit song, "We Can't Stop," which is included in her Bangerz album. Flourgon, whose real name is Michael May, also named Larry Rudolph, RCA Records, and Sony Music in his lawsuit.

The Jamaican singer is seeking a trial by jury, and he is also requesting that sales for "We Can't Stop" be stopped. Flourgon also wants all performances of the song to be halted.

In his complaint, the singer and his lawyers claim that Cyrus deliberately used his vocal melody, cadence, inflection, and vocal rhythm. They also said that the hook for "We Can't Stop" is very similar to the hook for "We Run Things."

The document obtained online states that Cyrus's song owes part of its success to Flourgon's track. As of late, Cyrus has not yet commented on the $300 million lawsuit filed against her.

Miley Cyrus Talks About 'We Can't Stop'

In 2013, the singer talked about "We Can't Stop" and said that she did not mention "Molly" in the track. Instead, she said her name.

"I have an accent! So when I say 'Miley,' it must sound like 'Molly.' You're not allowed to say Molly on the radio, so it obviously says Miley. I knew people were gonna wonder what I'm saying in that song," said Cyrus.

Singer Opens Up About 'Wrecking Ball'

Last year, the singer opened up about another song from Bangerz, "Wrecking Ball," and said that she is extremely grateful for the track.

"I think people look at things they've done and there is a sense of shame, or 'I wish I wouldn't have done that' -- not because I'm naked, by the way; it's because I feel like I'm in a deeper songwriting place... Lyrically I'm less impressed with that song for me right now. I feel like it doesn't reflect who I am now, but that's fine because it's not supposed to..." said Cyrus.
