Janelle Monáe declares she is pansexual after previously saying that she is bisexual. She also called herself queer during a recent interview.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the 32-year-old singer said that she has dated both men and women. Because of this, she considers herself a free ass motherf*****.

The singer previously thought she was bisexual but after reading up on pansexuality, she realized that she also identified with it.

Janelle Monáe Introduces Cindy Mayweather

Monáe has also taken on the androgynous character named Cindy Mayweather as part of her 2010 album The ArchAndroid. The singer said that she tried to embody the fictional character in both her private and public lives.

"It had to do with the fear of being judged. All I saw was that I was supposed to look a certain way coming into this industry, and I felt like I didn't look like a stereotypical black female artist," said Monáe.

Monáe is also worried that her fans will be more drawn to her make-believe character than her true self in the real world. However, she also reminded herself that she's the one who created the character, so, she has the power to make her be whatever she wants her to be.

The singer added that she has felt misunderstood in the industry, but instead of allowing herself to be ruled by her worries, she decided to step up her game. She said that rather than self-destructing and becoming a confused person, she decided to seek help. Despite her fear of not always being at the top of her game, Monáe encouraged herself to do better.

'Dirty Computer'

In related news, Monáe also made headlines on Tuesday after she had unveiled the full tracklist for her upcoming album Dirty Computer. The 14-track album will feature the songs "Dirty Computer," "Crazy, Classic, Life," "Take a Byte," "Jane's Dream," "Screwed," "Django Jane," "PYNK," "Make Me Feel," "I Got the Juice," "I Like That," "Stevie's Dream," "Don't Judge Me," "So Afraid," and "Americans."

Dirty Computer will be released on Friday, April 27, via Wondaland Records, Epic, and Sony.

Monáe said that the album is for young girls and boys that identify as straight, gay, bisexual, queer, and more. The compilation is for all those who are having a tough time dealing with their sexuality. It is also for those who are being bullied for being true to themselves.
