Avril Lavigne, 33, is rumored to be dating Phillip Sarofim. He is the son of a Texas billionaire named Fayez Sarofim.

A source recently revealed that Lavigne and Phillip's relationship is practically new. They have only been dating for two to three months. Prior to seeing Phillip, Lavigne was in a relationship with J.R. Rotem, a Canadian music producer.

The same source also revealed that Lavigne and Sarofim travel back and forth to their respective hometowns so they could spend time with each other. The couple was introduced to each other by their common friends during a dinner party.

Who Is Phillip Sarofim?

Phillip is one of Fayez's five children. He is an heir to his family's money, and he works as a fund manager for several of his family's stocks. He is also an original and the second largest shareholder of Kinder Morgan and part owner of the Houston Texans, an NFL team.

He was previously married to Lori Krohn, and it is unknown when the two divorced. According to E! News, Phillip's dad also married Lori's mom, Susan Krohn, in 2014.

Avril Lavigne's Past Relationships

Lavigne, on the other hand, was married to Nickelback's Chad Kroeger between 2013 and 2015. Her first marriage, however, was to Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010.

In 2011, the "Complicated" singer opened up about Whibley and said that he produced her Goodbye Lullaby album. Upon hearing this, fans were surprised to know that the two are still very close to each other despite their split.

"Deryck is the most talented person I know. He produced, mixed, played guitar and bass. I wouldn't say it's a breakup record. It's about life. I went into it with a mindset of not trying to write this. People will make assumptions, but they'd be surprised what certain songs are about," said Lavigne.

Avril Lavigne Defends Nickelback

In 2016, Lavigne sparked reconciliation rumors with Kroeger after she defended him from Mark Zuckerberg's diss about Nickelback. In a video that was released in December of that year, Zuckerberg asked Jarvis to play good songs by the band. However, his new home assistant said that there are no good Nickelback songs.

Following the diss, Lavigne took her thoughts to Twitter.

"Dear Mark, many people use your products - some people love them and some people don't. Either way, you're allowed your musical opinion. However, your jab at Nickelback is in poor taste. When you have a voice like yours, you might want to consider being more responsible with promoting bullying, especially given what's going on in the world today," wrote Lavigne.
